To all Students, Parents, Guardians, Sponsors and Staff

Re-Opening of Damelin Campuses Under Lockdown Level 1

The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information on the next phase of re-opening of Damelin campuses permitted by government under Lockdown Level 1. The safety of students and staff remains a priority for all education institutions as the sector continues to implement a Covid-19 risk-adjusted strategy. No doubt there are many questions that you may have in this regard and we will endeavour to address them in this message and in further communication in the coming weeks.

At Damelin, we are permitted to return 100% of the total student population under Lockdown Level 1. However, given health safety concerns campus occupancy will be strictly maintained at 66% of persons on campus at any given time.

Damelin NATED Assessment Strategy – 02 July

Since the commencement of the nationwide lockdown in March, all on-campus activities were suspended due to the health and safety risks associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of the pandemic required alternative plans for students to continue with their studies and Damelin responded by directing students to the online learning platform myClass, which is accessible through the student portal, as part of Damelin’s remote teaching and learning, called Go!Digital, response as previously communicated to students.

Damelin Student Letter 02 July 2020

For almost 100 days we have been living in a time of national lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Damelin management understands that the lockdown has brought some uncertainty among parents, guardians and sponsors, and for students’ themselves, who are concerned about finishing their academic year according to their original plans. We wish to assure you that we have reworked the academic calendars and assessment timetables to ensure that our students are provided with a fair opportunity to complete and succeed in the 2020 academic year.

GO!Digital Student Communication – Self Care for Students 25 May 2020

We understand that there is a lot of anxiety, stressors, and uncertainty during this unprecedented time. In order to support your emotional and mental health, we have selected these important thoughts around caring for yourself and your wellbeing during COVID 19:

  1. Do not be hard on yourself for struggling with the effects of isolation, distancing, and lockdown. We have never faced anything of this nature before and are slowly developing coping mechanisms with which to support and soothe ourselves.
