Higher Education Programmes

Higher Education Programmes (HET) are accredited by the Council of Higher Education (CHE). These include post graduate degrees, Advanced Diplomas, Degrees, Diplomas and Higher Certificates. These qualifications are formal qualifications registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The NQF is a centralised registry of all recognised qualifications in South Africa. Because Damelin is a registered Higher Education Institution and able to offer these qualifications that are all post-school level and are on levels NQF Levels 5-10 of the National Qualifications Framework.
Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programmes
Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes are accredited by Umalusi, Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) or the Quality Council for Trade and Occupations (QCTO). These qualifications are vocational qualifications specifically in the trades and occupations and are on NQF levels 1-6 on the National Qualifications Framework.
Damelin Programmes
Damelin Short Learning Programmes are quality assured and certified by the Damelin Academic Board; they are not registered on the NQF, do not carry any credits and they do they lead to a formal qualification. They are, however, in high demand with people wanting to upskill in a particular area. So, if you’ve just recently been promoted or you’d like to expand your area of knowledge, for instance, then one of our programmes or short programmes might be right for you!
